Hi,
Just got news from Villavicencio COL, that C-47 HK-4700 'Fifi Kate' returned at her homebase yesterday, i.e. ON the date of the 75th Anniversary of the first flight of the DC-3. Former N47FK was heavily damaged in a landing incident a few weeks ago. She flew back to Villavicencio for further restoration!

Didn't take 'em long to wreck it - I watched it depart Chino in May for its new home in Colombia. Let's hope they take better care of it from now on.

My Dad used to parachute from this C-47 when she was based in Europe. The old Pilot, Tony, Put on some fantastic displays in her. I remember seeing him fly at treetop height past the Hartenstein Hotel in 2004 prior dropping the Red Devils and also VERY low over Pegasus bridge also in 2004.
It was such a shame to see her in the state she had gotten into the last couple of years :/ Does anybody know what happened in the landing accident or what the new owners plans are for her?

Ah ok, It's a shame she wont be on the airshow circuit but I'd rather her still be flying than end up rotting away outside or being static at a museum

Any idea what happend with the landing accident?

Braking problem. FK ran into a ditch at the end of the RW. There's a road under construction at that position...
