This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I searched here at wix for a while but didn't see a thread with this info.
Doesn't mean it isn't here, it just means I didn't see it in all the other threads using various searches before my eyes went crossed.
Who does T-6 checkouts?
I know of some but I am sure there are many others.

Chuck Gardner or John Sausedo at Warbird Adventures in FL.
I've got a buddy here in SLE that will and jcw up in Canby has done a few.

The T-6 is such a great trainer and a fun plane to fly, perhaps there ought to be a permanent page on Wix that lists all the places and people that are doing checkouts in them.
One caution, it is an ADVANCED trainer. Make sure the pilot teaching really knows what he is doing and don't be messing around with acro or even high g accelerated stalls down low or without a parachute.
You can and should really build a good warbid flying foundation in the 6 that will last and serve you in good stead later. When I needed to go around in a Spitifre it was no problem as I had already formed the habits.
I don't own a T-6, but have some thoughts on training, if anyone who is doing it wants to phone me next week or send me a PM. I am not home right now.

BTW, a running joke is that the P-51 Mustang is supposed to be the trainer for the T-6/SNJ!
The good news is that we know both airplanes very well and have 3 qualified T-6 instructors on site...
