We have a list of jobs to do on the PT-19 this winter. Chief amongst these are the overhaul of the main and tail undercarriage. Would anyone know a supply of seals for the legs? Also, is there a supply of gaiters for the legs? We don't have any gaiters fitted currently, it would be great to rectify this.
I'm also keen to obtain a full set of AD's for the Ranger engine. Are these available on line?
Any words of wisdom would be very welcome.
Thanks,
G

I don't have an parts like seals, but I do know of a product that is good practice to use.
It's called Strut Seal and is made by Hydro Chem Engineering in Ft. Worth. It's not expensive, a pint is probably $50 or so, and you don't need much.
If you are putting in new seals, add an once or so to the fluid.
If you have a minor annoying hydraulic leak, but arent' going to dissasemble and put in new parts yet, adding a small amount may well stop the leak for a year or two and save some trouble.
When seals get old they tend to harden and shrink; this chemical restores them. Of course, if you have a split or cut in the seal it may not fix that.
We have used it for years, not only in all 3 landing gear struts, but in the main hydraulic system, doesn't seem to have any downside.

Try this for Ranger ADs.
http://www.airweb.faa.gov/Regulatory_an ... enFrameSetApparently there are only two AD 52-03-01 Cast Pistons and 54-09-01 Carburetor Hot Spot Heater.
Lucky you.
