1945 AAF Federal C-2 Wrecker with a C-45G

It sure is a kick to use the old WWII equipment for what it was originally intended.
Today we used the Army Air Force C-2 Wrecker truck to lift a wrecked Beechcraft C-45G to put it on the trailer so we can take it to its new owner.
The other day we used it to lift a Martin Turret
Gotta love Ground Support Equipment!
These Wreckers were at pretty much every Army Air Base both here in the states and in all of the theatres. Here is a page showing the Wrecker in service

Where did you find that one? Was there much involved in rebuilding it? Photos would be nice....

Neat presentation! Being an old technical instructor, I enjoy reading how to separate the wheat from the chaff on stuff most people just walk past without a second thought. As far as the auxillary inertia starter crank, it doesn't look that complex, can't you fab one up? Or, modify a MAKITA type drill to wind that puppy up without all the grunting and sweating-

Looks like a government job and the shovel unloader didn't show up so no one can get anything accomplished without crossing a union job classification (kind of like never hit a telephone pole on a weekend, you can't afford the cost).
are the cab doors fabric on frame or minimalist pressed steel sheet?
