Collings Foundation A-36 Restoration Update

Tue Oct 05, 2010 3:32 pm

As many of you probably know The Collings Foundation has an A-36 Apache that is under restoration at American Aero Services in Florida. Today a major step forward was made in the restoration as the fuselage and the wing were mated for the first time. The restoration is expected to be completed in time for AirVenture 2011. Here are some pictures of the mating process.

Nice! Now there will be 2 A-36's flying in the world.

On a related note, anybody know how Kermit's "A" model Mustang is progressing. It's been a looooooong time since I've heard an update.

We just met 25 vets from the 86th Fighter Bomber Group at their 31st reunion here in Milwaukee. Could hook you up with any of them to help with a paint scheme plan.

These guys are sharp, active, and walked the walk. Let me know if I can help. Pretty cool tribute if you have no one else in mind.
