Some great pics there. Sad yes, but just like many other sites around the world, at the time, they were obsolete and had more value as scrap...if only they knew then what they would be worth now, a few more would have been hidden away!

Aside from the engines, I wonder how much scrap value there was on a Mosquito.

Looks as if they pulled the engines off and burned the rest.

Whats funny or sad, is the amount they got back then for scrap, is nothing compaired to what they could get now on a few of the good parts. If any of those scrappers are still alive, I bet they are kicking themselves now.
