More information about two current subjects

It's odd how things tend to be circular in nature. Now that I've moved into a new house, I'm unpacking boxes that have been stuck in a closet for over 11 years and playing 'OH! that's where that went'.
Today I discovered two old magazines that provide more information about the current subject of how good the P-40 was, and another that covers in depth the XB-42 and XB-43 which was just a hot topic in the Hangar.
The P-40 article is in a November 2005 issue of AVIATION HISTORY covers Australian P-40 ace Clive Caldwell and his successes against Bf-109's and Macchi's in Egypt. and later in the SWP against Ki-43's using the WARHAWK. It's quite a lengthy and well written bio of this little known outside of Oz pilot who is officially credited with 28 1/2 kills confirmed.
The XB-42/43 articles(one article on each airframe in the same issue) are in an AIR CLASSICS REVIEW Vol. 1, 1994 issue titled 'America's forgotten WINGS' which also covers the XF-90, the XP-67, and the DC-4E amongst other types.
Both are well worth seeking out either on line or @ the local used magazine/book shops.
