hey,
does anyone know if F-8s bu145527 (N37TB) and bu145592 are at the FHC?
is F-105G 63-8332 there too?
i had heard that he did not intend to have the F-8s fly, is this true, and is the same true for the thud? does he own the thud?

Does Paul Allen actually have title to the 105 or is it on "long-term" loan from the Air Force? I didn't think there were any truly civilian owned 105's around.

me neither, otherwise i feel as though it would have come up during the collings discussions. still, i don't know why paul allen would want it otherwise.

Those pictures are pretty old since ther ain't that much sand in Arlington WA., as far as I know, all three are still tucked away in one of the green hangers @ Arlington, Wa. airport. As far as figuring VULCAN out-------------good luck! Sometimes their lawyers sue each other just for giggles.
His two seat A6M is about four dedicated weekends of effort away from being able to fly from all outward appearances, yet it's still stuck to the floor in the display hanger where it's been since the place opened a few years ago. IDK IDK!?!

yeah those shots are from reno and az i think. but darn, i had no idea that things were that crazy there. i was reading about the p-47 the have flying now and assumed the flew most of the collection.

They can't fly the F-8s too easily without the test and rigging gear which I have. I have been trying to get thru to them but in their is it not the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing, it is the left hand does not know there is a right hand.

If James Cammeron did a 3D movie of VULCAN, it would make 'The Matrix' and 'Avitar' look like 'Steamboat Willie' and 'Twin Peaks' would become a lesson in clear logic.

The majority of stuff they have restored does fly (less the ultra rare Ki-27 and the D-13), but they have so much stuff crammed into the 'we'll get to that' hangers @ Arlington it would boggle your mind.

Group,
There is a guy in the mid west that owns two F-105's (one even has a mig kill).
Unfortunatly he does not like publicity, and would prefer that I not disclose his name and location.
I was at his place last month, to look at making some new panels for one of the F-105's.
He also has Mig-15, Mig-17, Mig-21(X2), T-33, F-86D, F-4C, H-34(X3), H-21, and A-7(X2).
This is just what I can remember off the top of my head.

12XU2A3X3,
Sorry, I was only there about an hour and did not write down S/N.
I dropped off a new F-86D canopy for his restoration.
I left there and drove to TX, and picked up the L-5 that I traded Gary Austin for.
The complete trip was 4000 miles in 5 days.

Not saying it's not true, but I do find it a little hard to beileve that one of these Thuds has an actual air to air victory. The USAF/NMUSAF likes to keep control their "Mig Killers" after their service is concluded. This maybe in the form of display at a museum or as a monument, be as we all know always still remaining under the watchful eye of the NMUSAF. So the thought a civilian having ownership of one I would say is remote (but nothing is impossible I guess)
Also 12XU2A3X3, you probably know this but 63-8336 is listed as being
'marked as' 63-8332.
