This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Hey guys I'm out in Morristown, NJ for work, doing some training, was wondering what was close as far as warbirds go? My weekends are open and I would like to stop and visit some of the East coast airplanes if any are around. Thanks for any information in advance.

I am not to far away and there isnt too much in the immediate area.
Your best bet would be the U.S.S. Intrepid in Manhatten. There is also the NJ Aviation Hall of Fame at Teterboro airport. There is also the American Airpower Museum on L.I. I've never been there but have heard good things.
The Mid Atlantic Air Museum is about two hours away in Reading P.A. Also there is the Cape May Air Museum at NAS Wildwood, but that is almost three hours away.
If anyone else knows of closer museums I am all ears.
Also, just remembered that the lovely restored DC-7 in Eastern Airlines livery is operating out of Teterboro for the next couple of days.

Hopefully this link will work, just change the state to see what is in your area.

Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Rhinebeck, NY is a great place. The New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks, CT. Milliville Army Airfield Museum in Millville, NJ has some nice displays and you might get a chance to see some of Tom Duffy's stuff on the field.
The Cradle of Aviation Museum and Floyd Bennet Field both have warbirds on display and aren't too far.
Most of all of those are within 2 to 2.5 hours drive.

Our C-97 is at Floyd Bennett. We expect to be doing a gear retraction again on either Tuesday or Thursday coming.
