Perhaps ElliceIslandKid got tired of playing with all the levers and switches...

I had the same thought, warbirdcrew, when I saw they ad. Not quite the ton of money that was offered by the other people that were interested in his "project".
I don't get advertising it as a Grumman "Martlet". Could this actually be a bird that was lend leased to England? Or just somebody trying to make it seem rarer than it is?

It would be great to see this material go towards the three that are being built up in Texas. Isn't one of their projects missing a fuselage? So the seller would get about as good a price from them as anyone, and he would get to see "his" Martlett fly again someday.

We have already been contacted about it. It is an F4F-3 Cockpit section, it does however have obvious corrosion and looks to have sat in the water for quite a while. It would fit into our projects very nicely but not for that price.
