A-26 in Ocean City Nj in mid 60s

Mon Aug 02, 2010 12:48 am

As a kid vacationing in Ocean City Nj in the mid-late 60s there was a great A-26 at the Ocean City airport as a display.
The aircraft was in great shape and appeared to be able to fly.
After several years kids had gotten inside and started to strip her.
I climbed inside several times.
Later I saw an article in the local paper that the city wanted the plane removed.
The next summer I saw it was gone.
What ever happened to her ?
Does anyone else remember her?
This aircraft should have been saved!

I have the two wing top fuel tank fill caps that were taken off the T33 that was being hauled to the scrap yard that was also in Ocean City NJ the same time as the A-26C.
They had plans for a museum ~ But only acquired these two planes.
Museum plans were later scrapped.
Both are gone from Ocean City now !
Could anyone on this board use these T 33 fuel tank caps for an extant aircraft?
