Waterbomber Down in BC (Crew Lost)

Sun Aug 01, 2010 10:49 am

Hi Gang,

I have some sad news from my area. Last night a Convair 580 owned by Conair of Abbotsford BC crashed while battling a fire near Lytton. Causes are not known at this time, but what is know is that the two crew on-board have perished.

My thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of those who will be missed.

Peace,

David

P.S. I hate posting bad news like this, but I just hope it reminds us all how hazardous our passion of flight can be.

Very sorry to hear it.....prayers go out to the families...

It was'nt that many summers ago when one of the firebombing Privateers went down over Estes Park, CO practically in my back yard.

Then we had the running off the runway incident earlier this year with another of the firebombers at Jeffco airport....luckily everyone escaped.

Very dangerous business.

Mark
