What is this? Found in woods.....

Friends found this is the woods. I can't ID it from this pic......

edit: children turned into aliens to avoid making their parents mad at me!

Person who found it is a pilot and said it looks like a navion (dosent look right to me though) but the only thing I can say is that its not up in north jerz! Im not trying to be cryptic I have yet to talk to them....just got the pic with no explanation.

Just a quick guess based on the size and color, but perhaps it is some kind of target drone or early cruise missile.

Something like a Matador or a Firebee...

What woods was that found in? The state, and nearby city, could lend valuable clues.

In NJ so not too sure how it got here. Not sure where as it was not my find.

If it is in my neck of the woods I'd gladly take a bit of a hike to check it out...

If it is here in NJ I'd suspect it would be somewhere around Ft.Dix, McGuire, or Lakehurst.

Im fairly certain thats the remains of a T2v-1 that is in the woods of West Milford NJ.

N 41° 04.622 W 074° 23.801

If I am wrong, then checking out this wreck os still pretty cool.

it looks to good to be the west milford site. i dont think it had red paint on it either. could be wrong though. love to check it out.

I'm going to go with Navion. Of interest in the photo is the large yellow X on fuselage.
A "marked" crash. This aircraft is in some database of known wrecks. The CAP often marks
wrecks so that search aircraft don't mistake it for something recent.
I think the nose of the aircraft is to the right. Appears to be sliding canopy rails visible.
The strong taper of the aft fuselage is evident, e.g. Navion.
