I was wondering how insurance works with respect to warbirds
Do privately owned warbirds generally have hull insurance and if they do, what type of numbers apply ..ie yearly premiums as a percentage of insured value.

Hull insurance is an option by the aircraft owner. Rates are often a percent of the hull value set by the insurance company - sometimes are negotiable.
Liability insurance is commonly required by most flight events and thus becomes essentially mandatory in order to particiapte.
