Somewhere on this here forum, someone mentioned staying at a B&B called the "Red Horse" or Red Lion" for Flying Legends. I don't remember which. Anyone know which
The owner at the place we normally stay says he's not sure if we can get our usual room so I thought I'd start doing some research about other places.

Mudge, I usually stay at the Travelodge at Fourwentways
http://www.travelodge.co.uk/search_and_book/hotel_overview.php?hotel_id=19. There's a new Holiday Inn Express being built behind the Red Lion at Whittlesford but it's not accepting bookings yet (should be finished late this year). The Red Lion
http://www.trlh.co.uk/ has a great deal of history and it's a great place to gather after the show but it's a bit run down.

Mudge,
The IWM site with their information for the 70th Anniversary of the BoB Airshow indicates that they will have free buses running from the Cambridge railway station to Duxford on a regular shuttle service to and from throughout the days of the airshow. Therefore if you can find something close to the station it is one way of getting there.
I've got a booking over at Little Abington at a pub/hotel there and a rental car for the trip so it makes it easier to get around.
So where is the place for WIXer's to meet? On the "Tank Bank" or at the "Spitfire Ale" tent?
Regards,

I'm familiar with the shuttles. If all goes as planned, we'll be staying at a B&B, two blocks from the station or at the Crowne Plaza. There's shuttle service from the Crowne Plaza as well.
(
A bit pricey but isn't that why I send Mrs. Mudge to work everyday?) It has king size beds and a/c. Don't usually need a/c but DO need a king size bed. Plus the fact that it's town center and close to great pubs/eateries.
We shall see.

Heathrow to Paddington on the Heathrow Express...every 15 minutes. A 15 minute ride
Paddington to King's Cross on the underground...every 15 minutes. A 15 minute ride
King's Cross to Cambridge on the train...every 15 minutes. A 45 minute ride
Plenty of B&Bs within a few blocks of the train station in Cambridge
Free shuttle from the train station to Duxford on show days starting at 0800 about every 20 minutes

OK...Since we won't be staying there, I'm gonna divulge the name of my favorite B&B in Cambridge. It's the Railway Lodge. Owner is Tony King. Great Scotsman. Good rates. Super full English breakfast. Two blocks from the train station where the free shuttle to Duxford departs every 20 mins. on show days.
