This is a link to some incredible pictures of Davis Monthan back in the '60's. This was emailed to me from a friend. What an amazing group of airplanes! Terriffic color photo's. Too bad my last beer was probably drank out of one of them! :(

Those are really really fantastic. It also tells me that when people were telling me about mustangs and B-17s out there in the 1970's and 1980's that they were long gone. Even the TB-25N's amd PBM Mariners from 1958 were long gone.

I just bought a group of over 100 photos taken at DM back in 1971. These are great color photos that show some early jet types like the B-58 Hustler, F-101 Voodoo, F-104 Starfighter, F-102 Daggers, some drone F9F Cougars, early A-4 Skyhawks, Nam era F-100s, F8 Crusaders, early Navy Skynights and Vigilantes, B-52s, Mohawks, a couple Nam era B-26s, B-58s, some camo Nam era Skyraiders, C-124s, C-133, C-119s, B-47s, P2Vs and even a B-23. I was thrilled to add these to my photo collection :D

I bought 200 photos from an ebay seller. All from the boneyard but I bought them back in May and never recieved them! Repeated emails and nothing back. It was a lady claiming her husband is in the service and she is selling off some of his aviation gear. Perhaps I got swindled instead!

Hi Nathan, bummer man, that stinks! These came from a gal whose father took the family to DM as kids and he took all these pics while they were there. Apparently she said they were able to drive around the yard freely as long as they didn't bother the planes. I'm sure thats out today ~ no access. The guy took some nice pics, great squadron markings ~ especially the B-58 stuff. I was pleased with them. Dave

In our '74 tour all I saw from that era were some A-26's, although there were more at Tucson Airport
(apart from the C-46's & C-47's that is)
Even then, the A-26's were in 'modern' colours i.e. Nat Metal

Yeah I noticed a few of the 26's were without the red bar in the insignia which I believe the blue and white only insignia is from WW II. Those 26's weren't K models but maybe were kept as a parts source for the B-26K birds. Maybe the same with those C-46's and C-47's. Does anyone know when the C-46's were finally phased out? I'm thinking it was in the mid 1960's.

Have you guys checked out some of the other links on the top of the DM page? There are some great shots of Connies, Poon's and Goon's as well as classic airliners in some of those other links! Decades of a British (I think) plane spotter's pictures! Many of them in color. There were some great color pics of KB-50J, and C-124's too. Great way to waste more time on the internet!!! 8) Check out the "Prestwick" link on the top left corner of the page. I've never seen so many pics of C/KC-97's and Stratoliners!
