ADF footballs in St Joe, Mo.

I had posted previously on running across some adf football antenne in St Joseph, Mo....I had found them in an off the wall store in an older section of town. (1986-88) The guy had a number of them and wanted seven bucks each. I thought they were cool, but at the time, had no use for them..

Now that I am needing one....I can't seem to get the timing right where I can get back that way, to find out if there is a remote possibility of the store still being there, and still having the antenne.

I stole the picture from the Aero Vintage site, where I was going through the B-17 stuff, and found the pic in the new stuff column...So I guess I wasn't imagining things after all! Hope the guy didn't buy them all!

My PV-2 parts manual doesn't have the football antenna in it--it shows a loop antenna instead, MN-36B type.

It mounted via eight screws, and had an integral antenna control unit attached to the base.

Anyhow Gary, if you find your man with the seven-dollar footballs, I'd buy yours and ours, and pay for shipping for ours, if you'd pick one up for us, too!

And Chuck, just in case, what do you think you'd want for one of yours?

Gary and I have previously talked about these. I told him at the time, that if he got by there again, I would take several at the asking price. I also told him to see if the guy would cut a deal on a batch of them, depending on how many there were. I'm still in for a bunch of them Gary.

Sorry so long getting back....oldchuck, your PM didn't make it through....Went thru St Joe two days in a row, but no place near to park a tractor-trailer...not enough time to drop trailer at the Love's Truck stop either...dang!

I don't know Groundpounder, it appears that there may be an outside chance...I will have to take time off in the near future to investigate....
