Was there ever a tropical Mk.V fitted with both a volks filter and clipped wings?

I'm not Spitfire Guru, but IIRC there's photos by the great Charles E Brown showing this setup in N Africa. Think they were Vc (Trop)s.

OK, just hit the library, and the ones I was thinking of have the full wingtips. However there's colour shots of Mk.Vb with the small tropical undernose filter and clipped wingtips. I'll see if I can find an online version.

Another shot from the same sequence.

From:
http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/lof ... 74885.htmlOne of these with IR-G codes was flown by ace Ian 'Widge' Gleed.
This is the one I mis-remembered.
http://www.amv-lilliput.org/modelli/aer ... b%202.htmlFrom the other shots, all the Spitfires visible have full wingtips in the shots from the sequence I was able to find easily.
Over to the better informed, but I hope that helps!

I've found photos of the clipped-wing Mk Vb's, and photos of the Trop Mk Vb's, but not any photos of a single aircraft with both attributes.

Thanks for the info guys. Based on the info provided by JDK it looks like the SAAF operated at least a few Mk.V Spits with this configuration of filter/wing tips. Perfect! (This is for a potential flying model project)
