Dang, I can't access this forum from work. Kind of ironic, considering it's an aviation forum and I work at an aviation association. Oh well...

Hey, Great Photos indeed!!! One question however,...where are all the people? Seems to me that in the past any major air show featuring this quality and quantity of WWII aircraft typically attract throngs of people from the entire L.A. basin.

Good Question.
All of the flying aircraft were on a "Hot Ramp" the area outside of the crowdline all the way around the ramp area. Several large aircraft that were on display had area "Cut" into the crowdline with fences so they could exit for their display. This area was open to walk up to the aircraft in the morning, then people were marshalled out at 11ish.

I couldnt imagine what it must have been like to be in front of the C-17 while it was powering out of its spot in reverse. We had grass falling on us at the other end of the showline.

They moved the fence so no one was in front of it when they vacuumed all the dirt off that part of the ramp ;)

There were plenty of people there, in fact they set an all time attendance record for the event. Steve Hinton told us they had something like 15k tickets printed up for Sat. and ended up using a couple of thousand of Sunday's tickets for Sat. overflow.

How did I miss that second Hellcat (K29)? Honest, I haven't been in a cave... what's it's story?
