Ranger Parts, anyone know any good suppliers?

Thu May 20, 2010 7:37 am

We're starting on a couple of weeks of overhauling the top end (bottom end as it sits) of the Ranger in our PT-19. Does anyone know of suppliers of seal kits, valve seats, etc. Also, are any insert kits available for the sump studs?

I'm aware of a place in Fesno, but does anyone know of any other places? Any details most welcome.

Many thanks,

George

Hi George,

I don't have to tell you, parts are getting tougher to find for these old gals. Other than Fresno Air Parts, you could try some of the overhaulers themselves, like Joe Denest, John Ellis, etc., but I am not sure whether they will part with any of their stock or not.

Did Fresno not have all of the parts you needed?

Wish I could help more,

Steve

Frank Ramos (who has at my last count 37 Ranger engines in his hangar) at Schellville Airport in Sonoma, California died a few months ago. His kids seem interested in selling engine parts and engines. Give me a call at (707) 939-8913, and I will try to put you in contact with them.
