Great pics as always Spooky... a real treat for those who had to miss it.
Couple of questions
- Is it just me or was Bad Kitty suffering from a collapsed left mg oleo?
- What is up with the paint job on the Devon? Calling those people "heroes" demeans the intent of the word and detracts from real heroes. IMHO

Thanks!
Not sure about Bad Kitty but I agree 100% about the Heron. I almost threw up in my mouth seeing what they did to that beautiful airplane. I have no idea what the story is behind it if there even is one.

So, how did you like shooting from the West side hill? I was way too busy docenting for the 'Kitty' to do much pitcher takin'. The ramp John was taxiing on is downhill and pitched to the viewers left pretty sustantially so you may have caught her in a bad moment. I thought I saw you a couple of times, did you trim your beard?
The event just gets better every year, and was very well attended this year (I wrote the local rag a nasty letter about them covering a motorcycle show Sunday but not a syllable about GA Day).
By the time I got home I was beat from too much sun and way too much fun and lots of really neat noise!
As usual, really nice pictures buddy!

Almost forgot- the Heron was exclusively used to haul the Queen Mum around Great Britian so has some pretty odd duplicate electrical systems. It's been here on the field for a few years, and I agree the FAUX news crap degrades the airplane, it's like seeing Tony Schumachers dragster with saloon nudes painted on it, disgusting!

The west side wasn't too bad, especially once the sun started getting behind me. I like that berm!

Outstanding photos Al...I don't mind sayin', you're one finest shooters out there these days. Thanks for sharing those with us. Nice meeting you briefly by the Jug as well. Your Jug close-ups are awesome! Photos 2 and 3 clearly show an effect pointed out to me by Norm at FHC a few years back. If you look at the inner landing gear door, you can see the burned paint from the engine exhaust, something Norm showed me only happens on the left side due to the corkscrew effect of the prop blast...the inner gear door on the right side doesn't show that same effect. Modeler's take note
Anyway, beautiful shots one and all, Spooky!
