It would be very helpful if WIXERS could submit a compilation of static outdoor display aircraft from across the country. Any closeups detailing damage, neglect, corrosion, non standard paint jobs, etc..., are welcome !

Any volunteers ?

Pat, there's been some offline communications touting the importance of the "national historic collection". It would be interesting to see the overall condition of the "national historic collection". Thought the WIXERS would be interested in showing us what they've collected on their travels.

Rick- the Barksdale birds would be good case studies. Someone has posted some recent photos here... they are not the worst examples by far, but are pretty shoddy for being at such a significant base.

My site has a feature which documents the locations of displayed aircraft...
Aerial Visuals - LocatorIn the next few days I will be announcing a new set of features which will allow contributors to docment histories of airframes including the uploading of photos. This could easily be use to document the condition of displayed aircraft. Stay tuned!

Tom, Mike's site is great ! I figured that most of us have shots we have taken around the country. Mike might even be able to add some new pictures to his site.
