This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Wow, I am glad I clicked the first link, that twin mustang in the snow is great.
Thanks for the new shots of the CAF's bird. I sure hope they mention the airframes history when it goes on display with its placard. Glad to see it getting some attention.

I searched and searched and searched, then I checked my reading glasses. Nope, nothing on the RUDDER.

How about on the "Empennage"!? Big fancy word for the whole tail thingie! Technically, not on the Vertical Stabilizer, guess it would be on the lower aft end of the fuselage assembly...sorry, I don't know what frame numbers the faint lettering is bracketing!

Hey I think I saw a picture of that plane on the post office wall. Title read: "Missing, abducted from Midland Texas. Adopted child presumed abducted by birth parents"

I'd be inclined to believe that the faint lettering that crosses the access port reads: CONFEDERATE AIR FORCE

Looks like they took a grinder to the CAF lettering and picked off the tramp stamp too.

any ideas for the paint? I doubt they will repaint it like it was when it was with the CAF

Well......
Our "Tour Guide" said that preliminary plans were for the Twin Mustang to be placed in the Air Power Hanger and the "Betty Jo", that is poorly pictured below, to be moved to the Cold War Hanger.

The one I read in Dayton had a pic of this plane with the headline, " Prostitution ring stopped".

last I heard she will be painted as a night fighter and will also get the radar pod and damage and corrosion issues corrected. The pod may not be ready at unveiling but will be installed. Betty Joe will go to coldwar hangar, and the nightfighter will go to the Korean era hangar.
