Science Museum London 9th Feb 2009
A few shots from a visit to the Science Museum in London a couple of weeks ago. As always I made a bee line to the Flight Hall. Its a treasure trove of one of a kind and record breaking aircraft.
The Bleriot based J.A.P-Harding (forum software wouldnt let me write the first 3 letters without periods in between

)

The one and only surviving Fokker E.III

SE.5A is its post WW1 sign-writing guise, its the sister aircraft of the Shuttleworth example.

Roe Triplane, the second built and flown just over 100 years ago.

Alcock and Brown's Vickers Vimy

Amy Johnson's Moth, Jason.

The last surviving "ragwing" Hurricane

Spitfire 1A

Gloster E.28/39

Hawker P.1127

The 1931 Schneider winning S.6B

The pre moon landing mission Apollo 10 command module. Obama says...no!

Finally, the only Steam Engine I will ever get remotely interested in, the Daddy. Stephenson's Rocket!

(a bit of corrosion!)

Always a favourite of mine since I went on a School trip in the 70s, to do the whole museum properly would take a couple of days
