Avengers in US torpedo training videos

Wed Feb 17, 2010 12:40 pm

I just found this site this morning: http://www.eugeneleeslover.com/VIDEOS/A ... ttack.html.
It features 2 US wartime training videos that details all sorts of strategies for their deployment. You can catch glimpses of what must be TBM Avengers throughout.

Thanks Cadam for posting this, the videos were interesting for their technical detail regarding
the torpedo itself, as well the science behind launching them from the aircraft. I had actually
been to Slover's website a few weeks ago seeking USN aerial launched depth charge info,
but no joy, so I moved on the other reading. I not only missed the video's you highlighted,
but I also missed the complete WW2 USN Submarine action logs for all boats located in Slover's
links page. Very handy and good reading...so, thanks for bringing it back to my attention! :drinkers:

Avenger having the torpedo loaded is an early TBF-1 or TBM-1 and the airborne ones look likely to be early model Avengers too.
