NAS Miami

Wed Feb 10, 2010 4:55 pm

Ran across this cool pic of NAS Miami, thought I would share. Lot of cool AC, I'm counting at least 5 different airframe types, and scads of different paint schemes. Just wish it was a higher rez scan! Thank you US Navy Archives!

I always loved this pic. I did a model depicting that one F3F-3 with number 13 on it.

You Got with various models/versions:

Curtiss SBC Helldiver
F2A Buffalo
Northrop BT-1
F3F Littlecats
SNJ's.

Thanks Holedigger for posting I am always looking for aircraft posted from Nas Miami.
By the way this picture is at OpaLocka airport called mainside during the war this is the the parking ramp west of the tower
the BT-1's parked in the rear would be parked at what is now the Coast Guard base.
