I think you'll need to request a copy of the issue under discovery. :)

FYI there are 9 clips on the 2010 SI video site with significant Palm Springs warbird content. Everything with Ms. Lewis, everything with Ms. Morton, and everything in the Palm Springs category. The Palm Springs Outtakes clip has some shots of the planes being towed out and set up while the ladies horse around, even some of the museum interior. There's more gratuitous airplane footage on the Palm Springs On Location clip, and one of the ladies even shares her insight on the "fighter jets." (sigh) Almost all the museum's planes get at least a cameo, and hopefully this brought it some worthwhile revenue and "exposure."

As far as the cheesecake, I think the rest of us can just all quit taking pics of young ladies on/around planes now. It isn't going to be done this well again for a while.

Ah, but August, nothing is perfect, and we're all about the pursuit of perfection, aren't we ? Until said perfection is achieved we'll just have to keep trying until someone actually gets there ! Why give up now, I'm sure Doug will back me up on this ! ( He's not about to ruin the sca,...er opportunity, that he's got going on at Cavanaugh !)

Not so! Their swimsuits were definitely not period correct, so there is still a long way to go.

Valid point. However, while the merits of preserving authentic originality versus new-build components might be endlessly debated, the new technology has many advantages in terms of safety and maintenance, especially for such high performance applications. Anyway, some of the suits have original dataplates, which makes them vintage items in the eyes of the Federal Swimwear Administration.

One could argue that the wrong photographic technology also was used. It's clear from the stills that the lighting conditions got tricky as the shoot wore on and in many of the shots there are large burned out areas owing to the limited dynamic range of the crap digital cameras. Overall, however, it easily beats the next best similar thing that I've seen, which was a fashion magazine spread done on the Intrepid a few years ago.
