Crystal Oscillator Unit Model CDA-T...what is it?

Sat Jan 30, 2010 10:16 am

The produce guy at the local grocery found a "Crystal Oscillator Unit" Model CDA-T. It looks like a radio OR a part of a larger series of components.

It has two handles on the front to facilitate removal from a wall rack for which slides (like that seen on my kitchen drawers) are mounted on the bottom. Lots of tube inside, too. Knobs are labeled "Antenna tuning". "Fine D", "coarse A", 'frequency tuning". Two guages say "Antenna current" and "PA Grid Battery".

...he suggests that it may be from a 1950s vintage aircraft.

Guidance to sources is appreciated,
Thanks
David

CDA-T is a part of the AN/ART13A and AN/ART13B system. Used on 1950's-era stuff including B-29, B-36, B-58. Scroll through the following for an afternoon of fun!
