This museum located in Missoula, Montana just changed their website a bit to http://www.museummountainflying.org/index.php?id=2 Kind of a neat collection of aircraft. Anyone been there to check it out?

There is an excellant 1953 book about Johnson Flying Service from 1924 until the very early 1950s.
"Tall Timber Pilots" by Dale White and Johnson pilot Larry Florek.
I guess the company qualifies under the warbird umbrella as later on they sent TBMs up to Canada to spray on the Budworm operation in New Brunswick. The "Mann Gulch" C-47/DC-3 is ex-USAF.

GOOGLE 'Mann Gulch tragedy' and read what those 15 guys went through back in 1949-if you don't come away with a greater respect and admiration for what smoke jumpers do then you have a hole in your soul. My late Mother had a shoestring relation who was involved in the aftermath.
