I fail to see why people continue to argue that the best place for relics is to leave them where they are. It's very good news that the Swamp Ghost may finally be coming home before a scrapper's torch finds her too.

That's bound to happen to all the war relics that remain throughout asia if they are not recovered by warbird nuts like us.

Metal scrap is a big business in that part of the world, and it is unlikely that they'll leave any war relics as is when they could be chopping it up and making money off of it.

All war relics should be removed and preserved in museums and collections before they are destroyed for ever. Even if people perished in the crashes, I believe it is better to remove the artifacts and have it preserved forever in a museum, than to have it defaced and destroyed where it lay.

These crash sites are no longer going to be "lasting monuments" to the fallen. There has to be an organized movement to save them while we can.
