Lubbock, TX C-47 / Planview, TX T-33

Having some time to kill over my holiday trip to west Texas, I found myself in Lubbock. I drove to the airport and took these photos of the C-47 at the Silent Wings Museum. Looks like the Lubbock wind had done a job on her tail feathers.

And being a big fan of the T-33, I couldn't pass up a trip to the airport in Plainview to take some shots of the T-33 there.

It was a cold, overcast and very windy day but it was well worth the trip!

Were you showing pictures of the planes or is that someway to prove the theory of global warming. Snow in Texas..................yeah right. Where was the snow machine parked?

I understood they were doing some repair work on the tail, but apparently it is taking some time; it's been off since at least early June when we flew our C-47 in for their D-Day event. Hope they get it back on soon, looks kind of strange without it!

Andy
