With all of the other nostalgic air show threads posted of late, I'm wondering if any WIXers have photos from the 1981 CAF air show that was held at the former Bakalar Air Force base in Columbus, Indiana? It was a great show and had quite a variety of aircraft.

I'm sorry that I didn't get any photos of that one. It was a good show. It was also my first time EVER out of the state of Texas! Anyone can leave Texas on a 747, I left on a C-47 (Black Sparrow)!
There was a show in Rockford, Il, the weekend before. Texas Raiders and all the Tora birds (13 I think it was) flew that show, then flew over to Columbus and left the planes. They borrowed the Black Sparrow and flew everyone to Houston Hobby. The next Friday, we all loaded up on the Sparrow and Van Skiles flew us back to Columbus for the show.

It was my first time seeing the Tora Tora planes. The only picture that I have is of a P-51 . I'd venture to say that was the best air show I've ever attended!
