Very cool!
One of my friends has Aeronca's version of the WWII training glider.
It's not restored yet, but the wings have the spoilers and such.

I thought you had mistyped and meant T-6G. Slight difference there! Awesome to see them bring an extinct type back into the air. Note how much sink rate it has when turning from downwind to base to final. I don't think you would ever have to worry about overshooting the runway.

I have heard of a few T-craft that are currently flying that were converted to powered craft FROM TG-6's

My boss has a TG-6 that was converted to powered. Still has the original data plate. I think he'd like to covert it back to a glider someday.

Does the aircraft have three control sticks? Three instrument panels? WHere does the guy fly when soloing?
The thing that is neat about this glider is that a CFIG could instruct two students at a time. Maybe one that is going to be doing the landing and tow and a more basic student that observes or flies it after release but before reentering the pattern.
If I were those guys I would get a a 300' or longer tow rope and tow it airborne to fly-ins. Plus there's no limit to how long or how high you can tow( YOu can tow for a coupld of hours if desired.). In the SuperCub you could have a CFI and student and in the TG-6 a CFIG and two students. That way you have 5 people logging time for an hour's flight, for the cost of 8 or nine gallons of fuel!
