Researching Korean War era training accidents.

Sun Nov 15, 2009 1:24 pm

Hi, I am looking for info on a couple of Korean war era stateside training accidents.

I have spent a good deal of time looking elsewhere and have not come up with much info. I was hoping one of the experts here on WIX would be able to help me out. I'll post the information that I have.

Date: 9/17/53. Pilot: Ensign David F. Bascom. Description: Virginia Beach, VA. Oceana NAS. Killed when his aircraft failed to come out of a dive during rocket maneuvers over the Atlantic.

Date: 3/14/53. Pilot: 2nd Lt. Martin F. Gould. Description: Kingston NY, His aircraft crashed and burned during flight instruction.

Anyone have any more information or any leads?

Thanks for your help.

Dan

You might want to try Nick Veronico's excellent WreckChasing forum:

There are some talented people on this site who might be able to figure it out quickly.

Good luck with your research.

I recommend contacting Craig Fuller at : http://www.aviationarchaeology.com/. He has all the Navy microfilm and his fees are very reasonable.
