Houston Hobby 1940 Air Terminal Event

Wed Nov 11, 2009 3:47 pm

They are having their "Wings and Wheels" event at the 1940 Air Terminal on Saturday, 21 NOV 09. The B-25 Yellow Rose has been invited to come and sell rides. We plan to go. Unfortunately all the other right-seaters are busy, so I'll have to fly copilot. Ah, the sacrifices I make!

We plan to get there about 9am so we can get set up. We will sell rides in their lobby, and some PX items as well (I think) like Yellow Rose caps and T-shirts. At the plane, when we aren't doing rides, we will have aircraft tours. A $10 donation will give you the "Nose to Tail" tour, and a chance at the doorprize drawing at the end of the day. The doorprize? A beautiful 12x36 inch digital print of the Yellow Rose by WIX digital artist Holedigger!

We plan to depart Hobby about 4pm so we can get the Rose home and to bed before dark.

Also there selling rides, I am told, will be the LSFM T-6 and the B-17 Texas Raiders will be selling advance rides for December.

If you're in the area, come have lunch and say howdy!

Bluehawk,

How much are rides going to be?

I've never ridden in a B25 and I hear they can be a bit noisey.

See you at the Museum.

SPANNER, WE USED TO HAVE OUR B-25 HERE IN HOUSTON. WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THEY"RE NOISY ?

I wouldn't say they were noisy, but I do know that you can pull your headphones off of one ear and the person next to you can shout at the top of their lungs, and you MIGHT understand that they are trying to say!

Spanner, check PM.
