Not listed in Mikes site :cry:

but is listed in Michael Blaugher's book in the city displayed aircraft section.
Anyone know if is there :?:

, it only list it at the VFW post and I have been unsuccessful at finding an address for the post # 4586. The VFW web page lists the post as 7953???. I will just inquire when I pass through.
I figure if its not on your site it likely doesn't exist?, or is no longer on display.
I need to get a new one as my book is the 21st edition(2001)

I've been through Mansfield a few times lately, and visited the airport as well. I've seen no sign of any warbirds either at the field or downtown. I might try to make a trip down there again just to snoop around. It couldn't be hard to find if it exists (as long as it's in the open) since Mansfield is a very small town.

According to Leslie Hunt's 4th Edition Revised, He lists the T-33 at Mansfield with no other location info, but includes serial 51-6601

I do appreciate the vote of confidence, however never assume the Locator is complete. Feel free to keep asking questions. I will fill in the gaps as time passes and the Locator will be better for it.

As for the T-33 in question it is now here...

I've still got a scar on my hand from that dang airplane! I'm not sure if Wade was there for this one or not, but if he wasn't he knows who was.

Back in the '80's as a young punk Airman, I was stationed at Barksdale AFB just up the road. Me and a couple of friends went to check it out and in doing so, two of us stood with one foot in an intake and lifted the canopy. My buddy on the other side couldn't hold it any longer and let go. Well, it free fell about 2 feet onto my left hand. :shock:

I managed to lift the canopy up with only my right hand (adrenaline is great). I had a nasty cut on my hand, but luckily no broken bones.

My buddies were amazed that it wasn't broken and that I could lift a T-33 canopy with one hand. One of many proud airplane scars.

Back then it was in pretty sad shape, many instruments were missing (as best I could tell before the canopy fell)and it wasn't being taken care of. I asked about it when I was back at BAFB visiting friends *yes the same ones) earlier in the summer and they said it was gone and they didn't know where it went.

Man what a small world that you would ask about that airplane 20 years later!

. I stopped by the airport and talked to the airport manager by phone and he told me it did leave a number of years ago and that it went to Greenville Mississippi as you have now put up. He said that it was mounted on a pole now with the gear up.
Pretty wild story Bill :shock:

Has anybody been to the Museum there in Greenville and have any pictures :?:

You can see it on bing.com/maps. Look up "Mid-Delta Airport, Greenville, MS". It's at the intersection of Airport Blvd. and 5th Ave, just west of the water tower, and only shows up in the bird's eye view.

I tried to link it, but it didn't work when I tried to preview.

Google maps does not show it.
