Pretty cool story! These are the sorts of 'little' stories that keep coming out and need to be brought out and aired before Uncle Jose` passes away and they are lost forever.
I lost lots of stories when my dad recently passed because he 'poo-pooed' them as 'not important' but they might have filled in a small crack in part of a bigger story, get your relatives WW2 stories out while you can-
