A morning of goofing of at War Eagles Air Museum

Every Thursday the museum has a lunch for the staff and volunteers at the museum. And even though I am not directly involved with the day-to-day stuff at the museum I get invited to partake. Afterwards I then try not to make too much of a nuisance while I poke around in the corners and visit the maintenance hangar.

Today the museum's BT-13 was in for an annual:

The T-6, BT-13 and the PT-13 have all flown in the past month. I beleieve the L-5 is flyable. Many of the fighters are "pickled" but will not take too much to become airworthy. The Globe Swift also flies and the Tiger Moth I believe only needs an annual. The Storch needs a new Argus as the one on it has a broken crank.

There is talk of making one of the P-51s airworthy.

well thats good to know that there are a few flyers, hope they resurect a few fighters, itd be nice to see the P-38 fly again.

i was at war eagles in 2001, GREAT museum, thanks for the new pics, glad to see they are an active museum. my guess on flying the fighters, they might need someone with MONEY to help get them active again. but who knows?
