P47 which crash on 19 Mar 1944 in Horn Island (Australia)

I am looking for more information About a P47 which crashed land the 19 Mar 1944 in Horn Island (Australia) and Hit two Australian P40. I can't find a Serial Number or an Accident Report

The Wreck of the P47 is on the Airfield Area today

Are you sure? Horn Island has a regularly used airport now.

We get a little touchy when we read P-47 Crash when there are only a handful left, and some of the guys know all the pilots that are checked out in the P-47
