SPITFIRE REUNION, SCOTTSDALE AIRPORT, SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA OCTOBER 21, 1995.

Quality of flying photos not great, I hope you enjoy. Six Spitfires and one Hurricane flew. May have been the most Spitfires at one time in the US.

Great shots, Thanks!

Maybe one day we'll see a BoB flight like that resurrected this side of the pond again!

When's the last time a gathering of British WWII aircraft was assembled like this?

I know there is actually a pretty substantial number of Spits in North America.... and seeing as how they're one of my favo(u)rites, there should be a fly-in for my benefit.

Cheers,

Dave

Of all of those, only the Hurricane and Spitfire PT462 currently fly with any kind of regularity (Bill Greenwood's Tr.9 did until its accident, of course.) The Spitfire XIV is awaiting a new engine and "EN398"/MA793 is held in the Wings of Dream museum in Brazil - not sure if it's flown since it arrived...

PT462 is back in the UK as G-CTIX, as is RW382 under rebuild to fly....

We have had eight Merlins running the past few years in Ottawa for the BoB Ceremony at Rockcliffe. Two Spits, two Hurricanes and the Lancaster.
