JDK in P-51D book thanks shock!

Well, it's out.

Despite my well known antipathy to the P-51D, the book I helped edit is now out (from MMP Books - www.mmpbooks.biz ) and I'd just like to blow my cover because some thanks needs to be given.

To add to some hard work by the main author and illustrator, I was able to call on the invaluable of some well known WIX members to fill gaps and check data and add stuff. They are (take a bow please gents) Randy Haskin and 'Mark V'. Less regular WIX poster Jim Church and Pete Anderson also provided invaluable help. Thank you all very much.

Lastly, and by no means least (quite the opposite) I'd like to give a big public 'thank you' to Mike Vadeboncoer of Midwest Aero Restorations who promptly and helpfully provided photos of the superlatively original Happy Jack's Go Buggy that only a restorer would have, and answered many fiddly questions quickly. You all lifted the book to a different level, IMHO.

As well as the many others who had input into the book, directly and indirectly, I'd like to tip the hat to the late and much missed Paul Coggan of Warbirds Worldwide. He (Mr Mustang) and I had a regular joke about 'how there was more to life than Mustangs' but I'd like to think he'd feel it was a good effort. He, like 'Mike' here does, would have found it funny me having anything to do with such a JDK 'icky' airplane. Nevertheless I certainly tried to do his passion proud.

The book had already garnered some nice praise, and there are some reviews here.

Book details here, and as the cliché has it, it should be available from 'all good bookshops'. It is available from the website above and if your 'good bookshop' doesn't have it, distribution details are also on the website.

Any mistakes, are, of course the editor and author's responsibility, not the lovely helpers mentioned above.

Thanks!

Thanks gents. I have to add it is my 'day job', and while there were some tricky bits, my major role was liaison between the author and artist on this one and the guys I mention above, which was a pleasure.

I'm sure that if it's like the other MMP books I've read, it's very well done.
