FW 190s at Kissimmee!

Spent the afternoon at the White One Foundation, and Stallion 51. I had to beg my way in to see the Flugwerke D9 as it is in Stallion 51s closed maint hangar. What a COOL airplane!!!!

I have pics to post when I get home. Hopefully the D9 will fly this spring. They have the aft fuselage tank remove and fuel lines disconnected from the Allison. The right gear doors are removed. The prop is MASSIVE! They are currently working on the wing for the Fw-190F8 "White One" The BMW 801 is on its stand, and they have 2 Jumo 213 "power eggs" sitting side by side!!

According to White One's last update, the BMW is a static motor for fitting the cowlings. The real one is still under reassembly.

I hope the D9 gets painted in an interesting late-war scheme.

What are they planning to do with the Jumos? Do they have a real D9 to rebuild?

Yes, once White one is finished, they have a D9 to restore!

I asked that same question, and others, on a "109" thread a week or so ago. They bought her from someone in Austria
and she is WkNr 210069. He's promised pics on the website, but I suspect they'll show up sometime after an Octoberfest
celebration at the hangar scheduled for Oct 17 where Dora is to debut.

I thought that as well, but I began to think that maybe that bulge was from a position light receptacle. Anyone know for sure?

I have an early postwar book that is filled with line drawings of WW2 era aircraft. One of the things it points out is that the FW 190 used lots of spot welding in its construction. Was that true? Was it true of all models or only some of them? Do the the Flugwerk aircraft duplicate that technique?

The nav light is out of the rudder, and the fabric doesnt look tight in that area,but just on the left side. Maybe some rash during shipping?? Looks like they took the nav light out to repair it.
Does anyone have any info on the electric powered controls on the 190s? The Flugwerke Dora has a 1/2" wire bundle with a cannon plug to the servo in the wing. I didn't get a pic through the inspection hole
