Tunkhannock, PA fly-in last Sunday(pics)

Thu Sep 24, 2009 6:46 pm

Hi all,

I made a last minute plan last Sunday to visit a fly-in breakfast in the next county over from mine in Tunkhannock, Pa. Was a pretty good turn out for the small airport. Even got to see a SNJ and two Stearmans come for the event! :D Also saw the arrival of two Bell 47 helicopters, a Civil Navion, and a few Stinson and Beech 18 projects at the airport. I would have posted this over on the GA board but since it does got a few warbirds I figured I'd post it in the Hanger.

Enjoy the pic.

Cheers,
Nathan :D

These two came from Forty Fort, Pa. I was surpised as I didn't know about them since Forty-Fort is about an hour and a half away from me. I made sure I asked them if they would like to come to the fly-in I am organizing for Towanda.

This is the Stinson I flew a few months ago. Owned by Steve Gay(also the airport owner). He is also the one to give me my first airplane ride back in the 90's. He has a few other Stinson projects on the field both looked like they are getting close to flying.

This Beech 18 is being restored to flying and will be used to hull up skydivers.

Sorry for the bad shot but this is one of two Stinson projects ongoing on the field.
