Trying to gather a global count (I'm not looking for a listing from a year or two back, but current). Preferably with an ID, rather than 'Joe Blow's Sabre'.
Aus:
CAC Sabre A94-983 VH-IPN
UK:
NA F-86A Sabre G-SABR 48-0178
US:
NA F-86F Sabre NX188RL 24986
Canada:
Canadair Sabre 5 RCAF s/n 23314 C-GSBR 'Hawk 1'
And? Thanks in advance!

I had'nt realised the F-86A was that old to wear a 48- USAF number!, a very rare bird!

The Sabre for sale in Reno is most likely Terry Klingele's.

There are the 4 listed above plus these 9. One more I know of is owned by Tom Woods N86F, but am not sure if it has flown in recent years.

Neal Melton, owner of the Tennessee Museum of Aviation has a Sabre. It was flown to the museum in 1998. It has been out of annual for several years but has been kept in a climate controlled hangar. It was one of the Flight Systems blue and white ones and has been refinished in polished metal. It's on their website,

Thanks very much, dfrat. I've just found your input to the ASB thread on the same subject from 2007 to today.

Group,
If you are interested in Sabers, you need to check out this web site:
http://f-86.tripod.com/
He is probably the most knowlegeable person there is on the Saber.
I have tried to stump him several times, but he always comes out on top.
I heard today the Saber on Display here (Reno) has been sold. I was also shown the CAF F-86-40 being restored here today. Currently working on trading use of my F-86 fuselage jig for some BT-13 parts for one of my projects.
Laterrrrrrr

No.
I was looking at it about a month ago, thanks to AvSpecs. No it's not currently under restoration work, other projects, such as the Rapide and Mosquito are.
