strega spilled its guts today at 6:30...

Fri Sep 18, 2009 1:15 am

...massive oil leak ... at the east end of the ramp. multiple gallons spilled out, oil from the air intake back to the tail on the bottom of the AC. Stevo was stoic .....more to come.

Done there, been that all over the bottom of the boat (even less fun to clean up than on the ramp) then the guessing game, '#6 rod?' 'nahh, #9' 'look, a rod cap hammered flat!' :vom:

Well, according to the news on AirshowBuzz.com it looks like they think it was just an oil line.

Glad to hear Strega is back in the air.
2 weeks ago I ran my 6 litre hydro in a one way river race. I did 18 miles in 9 minutes. The only problem is its a 20 mile race.
I havent even bothered to pull the engine down considering the massive hole in the sump.
Last year I ran My unlimited in the same race but lost fuel pressure and could only manage 1000rpm. Still finished though averaging 55mph.

Randy,
YESSIR!! Tee shirts, fibre half helmets, cotton lifejackets and 6000 pounds of plywood and snarling fighter engine sitting over a 13 inch prop spinning 16000 RPMS, going 185 on the straights and slowing to about 85 to turn on a lake or river:shock:
Muncy, Musson, Slovak,Cantrell,Fageol, Alter, Brow, Russ Schlee and his plumbers friend-your head aching from memories yet?
