CAF P-47

Can anyone tell me if the CAF ever had a razorback P-47> If so where is it now? I heard a story about one, but not sure if it is true.

AFAIK, they only had the 6 "D" models they recovered from South America and the one "N" model that is currently in restoration. I'm not as familiar with the early history of the CAF in the 50's and 60's, so it's entirely possible that one passed through their hands at some point.

Passing this one to someone more knowledgeable on CAF history........

The four razorbacks that ever appeared at airshows in the warbird era are the Maloney/POF P-47G since the 1960s, the Stutsman P-47G "Little Demon" since 1981, the Republic-owned P-47D retired to the USAFM in the late 50s or early 60s, and (rarely, in the 1980s) Champlin's "Big Stud" now at Seattle MOF.

Wow, I guess the "tramp stamp" is not doing it's job, since there was confusion on it's ownership. The CAF obviously needs to make the decal MUCH bigger!
