Geneseo 2010

Wed Aug 19, 2009 9:36 pm

Been following the 1941 HAG forum for awhile and still wondering as to what are the dates and possible themes for the show? I say for the theme it should be no theme! Just a general gathering and maybe an attempt to recreate on eof the "Good Ole Shows". Maybe we can even get Jerry back up there!

Well next week at the museum is major cleaning of the main hanger. Making room for some new additions. A few new aircraft to the museum from parts of the David T. collection!!!!! :D :D :!:

Welp, looks like our show will again be the second weekend in July (that seems to be our standard now) :) . As for themes, I believe that there should be none next year, however, I would like to see a gathering of bombers once again. With the way our museum is entering a period of large growth once again, it would be neat to go back to our roots of Bomber gatherings. Even 3 B-17s would be enough to start with (a showing that we mean business), then grow as the years progress. I know of a few P-51s that are already interested in coming as well. The truth is, themed airshows are waaayyy more expensive to run as we have learned in the last two years. You never know though, I'll keep y'all informed about Genny '10

Second weekend, huh? That means the Mudges won't be there. Same weekend as Duxford.

Mudge the traveller

I was so close, but didn't get a chance to drop in on the museum. I flew a Mustang (the Cessna one) from San Marcos, TX, to Rochester, NY, by way of Morristown, NJ, and Portland, ME, last week. Picked up a rental car in Rochester and drove to Livonia. Took a quick trip up the road to Geneseo to get some sandwiches at West's, and didn't realize where I was until we were on the way back to Rochester International. Sure hate myself for poor down-time planning!

It was sure beautiful country up there, especially compared to Central Texas with the lack of rain. Next trip up there, I'll remember where to go to spend my down time!!!
