How much runway does an A4 Skyhawk need for take off and landing in nil wind ?

WITHOUT arresting wires and brake parachutes

May be wrong, but i think the min landing is 6000' I believe if you were a private operator, I would encourage as long a runway as possible to minimize costs, such as brakes, tires and of course that runway is also a large increase in safety.

I am sure there are scooter drivers here that would have the graphs...

Way under 6k' as the Blues did a number of shows at Denton with our 5k' runway....I do know that a two seater with two bags and the speed brake open won't get off the gound in 5500'....as #7 figured that out one day at Denton...

7 was in Denton for some show setup/publicity stuff a couple of weeks prior to their scheduled appearence. He was suppose to make a takeoff, join up with Randy Wilson and another T-6 for a quick photo shoot, then he was headed nonstop for Pcola. For some reason, he never closed the speed brakes after the long taxi to the south end of the runway. Somewhere around 4500' later and way too fast to stop, he figured it out, closed the brakes and horsed it off the runway, dragging the gear through the 2nd and 3rd approach lights. The lights took out brake lines on the gear and necessataited a trap over at Navy Dallas. Randy tucked up on him and did a fast damage assesment and stayed with him til he was safe on the ground.

According to its Standard Aircraft Characteristics chart, a clean J52-P-8A-powered A-4F has a landing ground roll of 3,300 ft, sea level no wind. Somewhat less is required for takeoff over a 50-ft obstacle, probably less than that for the Blue Angels Super Fox version. Ferry range on internal fuel is about 1,100 nm. Your results may vary...
