This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Beemans and Blackjack and Cloves has made it's traditional way back to storeshelves here in Fresnjo. Remember the famous line from "Rightstuff"? "BEEMANS"?

Chuck Yeager: "Hey, Ridley?"
Jack Ridley (Levon Helm): "Yeah?"
Chuck Yeager: "You got any Beemans?"
Jack Ridley: "I might have me a stick."
Chuck Yeager: "Well, loan me some, will ya? I'll pay you back later."
Jack Ridley: "Fair enough."
Chuck Yeager: "I think I see a plane over here with my name on it."

I've had a pack of each one on the console of my 63 Thunderbird for years along with fuzzy dice on the mirror.
Loved BLACKJACK as a kid and still prefer real, black licorice to that nasty red vine crap

Oooooh...that stuff really is nasty.
Shudder.
Of course, I can remember chewing gum while having the O2 mask on, and chewing the same piece for so long that it ultimately dissolved in my mouth somewhere over west Texas. EEEEEWWWWW....

being a merchant, i know those iconic nostalgic gums have been re-produced at certain times of the year for a number of years now. yes, they are a hoot for nostalgia, & a great piece of aviation history!! when i carried candy at my store i would always buy them when they were offered by my vendor. they always sold out fast!!

You can usually pick Beemans, etc. up at any Cracker Barrel restaurant, in their candy section, along with lots of other "forgotten" favorites!
