Taylor's L-5

I know this thread is worthless without pictures, but my camera batteries puked out on me at Oshkosh yesterday by the time I got to the liason birds.
Taylor wasn't around for me to tell him in person, but holy cow, that little Stinson is BEAUTIFUL! Excellent work Taylor! An award winner for sure.
Maybe Al or someone else who is there can add some good pics to this post, but the detail work on the L-5 is fantastic.
Hope to stop by the plane again in the next couple of days and shake your hand Taylor.

Thanks Steven! We sure are having a blast here at OSH. Its great to have met several wixers face to face. The aircraft was restored by myself and Lanny Parcell of Cowtown Aerocrafters. It is a stock G-model and contains all items that were in it when factory fresh, inclding the entire Army SCR-274N radio command set. It is common for restored warbirds to have incorrect radios in them (navy instead of army or visa versa), but we managed to find an original NOS army radio set. If any of you have some good photos of the a/c I'd love to see them!

So my Instamatic ain't so hot but Taylor's beauty is. Story about a tree falling on it right after arrival....

I'd love for this little bird to take home Grand Champion. It certainly deserves it. I've got pics of it I haven't had a chance to get to yet. I'll try to make a point of working on them when I get a little time.

Were the aluminum fittings blue in WW2? Or were they all brass?

Flared fittings during that period were gray color and were referred to "AC" fittings. They had a 45° flare. The blue ones currently used have a 37° flare.
